Lake Destinations
False Bay Park
False Bay Park is situated along the Western Shores of False Bay which is part of Lake St. Lucia, a world heritage site.
False Bay Park boasts an attractive interpretive centre where marine fossils of both animals and coral can be viewed. The reserve also has a variety of habitats such as sand forests, thornveld and an open savannah.
Excellent bird watching and game viewing and two self-guided trails have been established for visitors. Other popular activities are boating and fishing.
High concentrations of crocodiles in the lake prevent swimming, however, boating and fishing are very popular. A viewing platform on the lake side near the camp commands magnificent views of the Greater St Lucia Wetland Park, especially at sunset, making it a great place to enjoy sundowners in good company while you reflect on the day.
